Announced in 1978, the Mazda Savanna RX-7 aimed to be a true joy for its owners to drive; it certainly managed that, with a 130hp twin-rotor midship engine and superlative front-rear balance, not to mention stunning looks courtesy of a wedge body with pop-up headlights. In 1980 Mazda gave the car some minor tweaks including an aerodynamics-enhancing integrated urethane bumper and lightening across the board. The SE Limited was the most luxurious, with creature comforts such as a sunroof and air conditioning, as well as bucket seats and aluminum wheels. By the advent of the second generation car 470,000 RX-7s had been manufactured, a number testifying to the car’s popularity. This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit.
